They got real literal when they named this coastal California city. Carmel-By-The-Sea is a gorgeous spot to explore hidden coves, spot local wildlife, and hang out with your dog. The city is notoriously dog friendly, with beaches and hotels welcoming pups (who says they don’t need a vaca?). And it is, in fact, by the sea.
When you’re done at the beach, head to the charming, tiny (we mean it, it’s only one square mile) for wine tastings, shopping, and top-tier restaurants.
