Photo by @BabakTafreshi | When I created The World at Night (@twanight) project in 2007 with an international team of night-sky photographers, one of our main aims was to protect the last remaining natural night skies by using photos and stories to communicate the value of this essential part of our nature. This is one of those places: La Palma, Canary Islands, where the night sky is protected by law. The locals appreciate this preserved heritage that has made their island an icon and astrotourism destination.
