The science fiction film follows the uprising of genetically enhanced apes, led by Caesar, against humans. The story chronicles the origin of the conflict.
Starring Andy Serkis, James Franco, Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Brian Cox (Troy, Succession), John Lithgow (Miss Sloane, The Old Man), David Oyelowo (Selma, Lincoln) and Tom Felton (Risen).
Directed by Rupert Wyatt based on a script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
Two additional sequels were made after this to complete a trilogy namely Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017).
