According to reports, Mexican authorities captured Ovidio Guzmán, the son of drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán, during an operation in the state of Sinaloa on Thursday. The operation took place earlier today, causing intense violence in the streets of the Northwest city of Culiacán. He was last arrested in October 2019 but was released by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to end the violence Guzmán’s arrest caused. Guzmán is considered a high-ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel. We will update here as the story progresses.
